Endodontic

Endodontic treatment is more commonly known as a Root Canal. The reasons people need root canals can vary greatly. Discomfort may be due to trauma, or decay either recent or from something that has happened a long time ago. Essentially root canal treatment is required when the nerve or pulp of the tooth has been damaged. Patients may experience mild to severe discomfort that brings them into our office for diagnosis. Historically root canals have a reputation for being a very uncomfortable treatment option for patients. Thankfully, today’s technology allows us to care for our patients so that the procedure is much quicker and more comfortable for patients. We will remove nerves and blood vessels and clean out any infection in the canals of the tooth, and then fill it with sterile material. After this the tooth may be filled temporarily, however, we do recommend that the best option is a full crown to help prevent possible fracturing of the tooth.
